Sleeping is a necessity, not luxury. A good sleep is essential to maintaining wellness as healthy diet and adequate exercise.

The importance of sleep
Sleep is a restorative process. While we sleep, our brain, then through the three phases of sleep: light, deep and REM. Sleep restores, rejuvenates and revitalizes the body and brain. Our immune systems are recharged, cells grow and repair themselves and to save our energy physics.

Unfortunately for many sleep is not classified. In this "open all night" society we live in, four out of ten Americans are trading much-needed sleep longer in the office gym, clubs and other activities that seem most important or interesting. What they do not realize is that lack of sleep takes a toll on our mental and physical well-being. To function optimally during the day, the average adult needs between 7-9 hours of sleep per night. According to the NSF, the American adult population functions on about six and a half hours of sleep per night.

For some, the lack of sleep is not an option, but a state. Millions of Americans suffer from insomnia. According to the NSF, a third ofAmericans use over the counter or prescription sleeping pills at night. If you suffer from insomnia, here are some tips to help you get some shut eye:
· Please bedtime. The Bible says: "Cast your cares on the Lord. Do not go to bed with a heavy load. Give it to God. Remember joy comes in the morning"
• Avoid foods and drinks containing caffeine, like coffee, tea, soft drinks and chocolate 3 to 4 hours before bedtime.

• Make sure that your mattress is right for you. Flip your mattress at regular intervals.
• Develop a ritual before bedtime. Under a hot bath 90 minutes before bedtime to relax your body and, in general drowsiness.

· Play relaxing music.
· Go to bed and wake up at the same time eachDay. When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm you feel better.
